Interviews and Insights: Giovanni Pina, Former US Soldier, Founder of SuccessDose and Self-Made Entrepreneur

An army veteran, founder of successful Instagram page “SuccessDose” (growing his following to over 88,000 followers within a year) and self-made Entrepeneur, Giovanni Pina. At the young age of 26, has made several lucrative investments and has been able to travel to over 20 countries. As a successful influencer, entrepreneur in combination with his life experiences, in this interview he will be discussing advice on how to become successful in your own right.

Could you please tell us a bit about yourself?

I currently reside in Miami Beach, FL. I am a former U.S. Soldier and would currently classify myself as a self-made entrepreneur at the age of 26. At this current moment I have traveled over 20 countries. I am invested in several stocks as well as a Fashion Dress Company in South Florida. I spend most of the day networking on Instagram and leveraging the success of my account to acquire further publicity.

At what age did you start your entrepreneurial journey and tell us a bit about how you started?

I would say I started around the age of 21 when I was an Army soldier. I quickly realized how tough life could be and that I needed to find a different path to make a passive income from my phone or laptop. I got started by seeking out successful entrepreneurs primarily on Instagram, I would direct message about 25 a day with a genuine request to learn from them. I would say that maybe 1 in 100 individuals would actually wrote me back. So it was indeed a constant grind. But eventually I met the right two mentors which guided me on my accounts’ journey to success.

Why did you decide to become an entrepreneur?

To establish a passive income from home. So that I could travel and enjoy life as I believe it was meant to be lived.

What advice would you give anyone that wants to become an entrepreneur?

Find a genuine mentor that is not trying to make a buck off of you.

Who or what was your main inspiration to start?

My father whom has owned over 5 businesses since I was a child. More importantly, they were different businesses that he had no idea about but set out to learn everything about them. Research is key.

Who are some of your favorite public figures that bring value to entrepreneurs?

A lot of smack is talked about Tai Lopez but to date he is one of the two only huge influencers that have given me their $1,000 course for free. My second favorite public figure is brain coach Jim Kwik who specializes in unlocking your brains full potential to help you achieve success.

What do you think are the main factors that distinguish successful people and ones that fail?

First of all, everyone fails. The difference is successful people never quit, they fail a million and one times before they “succeed”. Another huge reason I believe people fail is because they are being unrealistic with what they CAN do and what they CANT. Not everyone can be a singer for example, no matter how hard you want it. You have to do the diligent research and decide whether your expectations are truly realistic or not. Lastly, and most importantly, successful people didn’t rise alone, they seek mentors or bought courses in the niche they want to get into. Granted, I do believe that most of the information in courses does not need to be purchased as it is available on Youtube with enough research.

For people interested in growing their Instagram, what are two tips you would give them?

Nowadays, growing an Instagram FAST isn’t cheap. Instagram’s new algorithm makes it harder to grow organically but if you don’t have a large budget for paid promotions from 1M+ accounts, the next best option is networking with like-minded individuals or engagement groups. These are groups run primarily off of the application “Telegram” where there’s several people engaging each other’s posts to help them reach the explore page where they will grow organically. The next tip I’d give is when you DO choose to promote through shouts for shouts or paid shout-outs, do your research. A lot of accounts these days are rocking a fake following and fake engagement to compliment it. If the account has 50k followers and gets 100 likes per post, walk away. Or similarly if the account has 50k followers and gets 10,000 likes and 5 comments, walk away.

For people interested in ways to make money, what has been the most efficient way for you to make money?

Researching ONE volatile stock from the NYSE for several months and predicting the short term future of the company, then making a decision to either short or buy several shares. I made over $20k USD on one trade in a few days by shorting the watch company FITBIT.

If you could only give one lesson to the KnowYourBooks community, what would it be?

Find a mentor and LISTEN.

What are some of your favorite books?

Outliers – Malcolm Gladwell

48 Laws of Power – Robert Greene

Mastery – Robert Greene

If you could give one message to the KnowYourBooks community and any one else who is interested, what would it be?

At the end of the day, I can mentor someone, I can take them to the water but I can’t make them drink it. Action, action, action and the time is NOW.
